Overview
Arguably the Pic Blanc's best feature is the stunning views from the hotel's sweeping glass picture windows down the valley. It's a fantastic sight to have breakfast to and you can catch the sunrise over the peaks, coffee in hand if you're up early enough.
The chalet-style hotel is traditionally wood clad and the mountain features spill into the hotel with wooden sleepers making a striking bar area and plenty of stone throughout. The lounge areas are full of soft grey furnishing and roaring open fires. They've paid a lot of attention to the details and as a result, it's well worth each of its four stars. The indoor pool is perfect for a soak at the end of the day or the spa area with sauna, hammam and hot tub can be utilised for a full unwind.

Worth knowing
- The spa area is an additional cost, though the indoor pool is complimentary
- The centre of Alpe d'Huez is a 15 minute walk away but there's plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around the hotel

Hotel Le Pic Blanc is in the Bergers area of Alpe d'Huez, this is a second major access point to the slopes and great for beginners with plenty of green runs with both gondola and chairlift access. The lifts are less than a 250m walk (slightly uphill) which would take around 4-5 minutes in ski boots and when the snow is good (most the time) you can ski back closer to the hotel (not a piste, more a snow-covered kids playground).
The centre of the main town is around 900m down the road, that's a 15 minute walk but there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops that are much closer than that in the Bergers area. All in all, it's a great location and the stunning views down the valley more than make up for the short walk each morning.
