As a guest at the 4* Excelsior Chamonix Hotel & Spa, you will enjoy staggering views and a high quality service. Being situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, the panorama is truly impressive and you will enjoy views of both the tallest mountain in Europe and the impressive Aiguille du Midi.

The chef at the hotel Restaurant Envergure, specialises in using local produce and creates wonderful homemade dishes, all enjoyed with excellent service and a most impressive panoramic view; there is also a wonderful sunny terrace to relax and enjoy some drinks.

After your day on the slopes there is the spacious and comfortable Bar l'Aquila. The Pure Altitude Spa offers a sauna, jacuzzi and hammam, you simply need to make a reservation and pay locally (€20 per person for 1 hour) and you may also choose to indulge in one of the treatments, also payable to the spa.

There is a luggage store and for the youngsters, there is a play room.

Excelsior Chamonix Hotel & Spa Location

Whilst it's not central to Chamonix (4km North), it's out of town location more than makes up for it with the views available from the guest rooms.  The hotel is located in Le Lavancher on the ski bus route between the Flegere and between Argentiere/Grand Montet ski lifts. It is less than a 1km to the La Trappe Ski Lift and 2km to the Brevent-Flegere Ski Lift. There are free ski buses to both the lifts and Chamonix town centre 15 mins away. The buses run typically between 6am and 8:30 pm. Night bus (pay locally) from 8:30pm to midnight.

  • Free buses run daily to Megeve from Chamonix Sud station (outside Les Aiglons hotel) - roughly twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon
  • There are also daily buses to Courmayeur for 15€ return with a Mont Blanc pass (25€ return without a pass)
  • Mont Blanc passes also include a daily Chamonix luge ride, use of the town swimming pool and ice rink, entry to the Alpin museum, the Skyway Monte Bianco in Courmayeur, Aiguille du Midi in Chamonix and use of the Train du Montenvers and the Mer de Glace to visit the glacial caves and old mountain refuge
