Taj-I-Mah Hotel - Les Arcs 2000

48 Rooms
2 hrs 45 mins Transfer time
B&B / Half Board Board basis

Surprisingly the Taj-I Mah Hotel is the first 5-star hotel in Les Arc and the entire Paradiski area. Designed with ethnic influences to reflect serenity and tranquillity - it's tastefully modern full of neutral shades and faux-fur throws. The extensive use of glass takes full advantage of a fantastic position; flooding the hotel with natural light and bringing the outdoors in, what more could you want from a ski hotel?

Epic food of course! Le Diamant Noir is the star of the show serving up the star-worthy dishes. Whilst L'Atelier is a more casual affair serving regional classics as well as posh burgers largely cooked over a wood fire - and at much more reasonable prices than you might expect. Both restaurants are available if you book half board making it well worth upgrading.

The spa is 400m2 with an indoor pool, jacuzzi as well as a sauna and hammam. It may not be as big as you may expect from a hotel of this calibre but stylishly designed. The real show stopper comes if you upgrade to the suites. There are 5 on the upper reaches of the hotel and the floor to ceiling glass in a living area twice the height of a normal room provides views that are something to behold when you wake up in the mornings.

Oh.. and it's ski in, ski out.

What we like

  • Ski in, ski out location with in-house up-to-date ski shop
  • Both restaurants are available on the half board

Slopes
Les Arcs is best for intermediate and advanced skiers. Though beginners are also well catered for. The link with La Plagne gives the ski area 425km of pistes. However, the lift is on the outer reaches of both Les Arcs and La Plagne. To get from Les Arcs accommodation to the centre of La Plagne requires a lot of mileage so you may not want to do this every day.
