The Best Ski Flight Options To Austria This Season

The ski season is fast approaching, and there is reason to rejoice – this year could mark the first full length season for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the Austrian slopes since 2018/19! With that in mind, keen skiers and boarders are clamouring to get on the slopes over the coming months, to make up for lost time.

Austrian resorts and hotel are gearing up for their biggest season too, and in keeping with our mantra we aim to send as many of you to Austria on any date, for any duration. Starting with 3 night breaks, have some of the best ski resorts in Austria on sale, from St. Anton to Kaprun, and Saalbach to Schladming. To make things a bit easier for you, we've pulled together some of the best flights options to Austria ski resorts for Winter 2022/23.

Whether you prefer to fly with British Airways, easyJet or another provider is entirely your choice. It is, however, a good idea to take a look around at some of the available deals some major airlines are offering. Jet2, for example, offers a baggage allowance of 22kg for their flights – perfect if you’ve got a lot of ski gear to haul around. As another example, flights that depart mid-week are going to be cheaper than weekend flights, so a 3-night stay starting on a Monday will be cheaper than a weekend. Equally, a 4-night long weekend from Thursday to Monday is another great option, as you avoid the higher charges and weekend crush at the airport.

Here’s our handy guide to some of the best flights to Austria that might be suitable for your ski trip this coming Winter.

Which Is The Best Airport For My Austrian Ski Resort?

Let's begin by looking at the closest airports to the major ski resorts in Austria. We've included a couple of airports outside of Austria too. Munich and Zurich both offer more flights on different days than the main hubs of Innsbruck and Salzburg, so it's always useful to look at other options for both price and date flexibility.

Bad Gastein - 1hr 30 mins, Salzburg

Kaprun - 1hr 45 mins, Salzburg

Kitzbuhel - 1hr 15 mins, Salzburg
